# Sign agreements and metadata

Before you can start integrating with Signicat's implementation for SPID, you must sign an agreement with Signicat to obtain the needed access. As part of the onboarding process, Signicat registers your organisation in the SPID federation.

# Prerequisites

To get started with SPID, you need to obtain an addendum to your Signicat contract. If you are a new customer, the addendum is included in your agreement with Signicat.

To prepare the addendum, you need to provide Signicat with the following information:

  Information about your organisation

  • Contact information: name, email and phone number.
  • VAT identification number.
  • Fiscal code (Codice Fiscale), if your organisation is also registered in Italy.
  • Contact information of the employees who have permission to revoke or block SPID.
  • The title to display on the SPID client. For example: your company name.

# Sign an agreement with Signicat

Signicat presents an offer and information about the steps you must follow to have a fully functional SPID solution running through Signicat. To get help with this, please contact Signicat (opens new window).

# Metadata information

# SAML Metadata

Signicat facilitates the process of registering customers to the SPID federation by submitting SAML metadata. When you integrate with Signicat's implementation for SPID, a metadata document that represents your organisation is generated and registered with AgID (opens new window) (the agency that regulates SPID). AgID processes metadata submissions for new service providers three times a week.

Note

It may take up to three working days to complete metadata registration before you can start using SPID. To receive updates on the status of your application, please contact us.

# Installation in production

Normally, an onboarding manager will have the role as technical responsible in the SPID agreement. This person will manage the communication with AgID for you to integrate and connect to SPID. When the metadata is approved, it will be installed on your account in Signicat's system and made available for you from your unique customer-specific configuration.

# Installation in sandbox account

When the configuration is set up in test in your sandbox account, you may verify your metadata and installation by sending calls to the SPID authentication or signature service, using test users.

SPID demo

Follow the steps in the demo guide to try out SPID in your sandbox account.
