Test in Dashboard

This page describes how to test Smart-ID in the Dashboard with your sandbox account before you start integrating in production. In this way you can learn more about available options and how to connect to the eID.

Setup for testing

Sign up and add a domain

If you do not have an account already, then you need to sign up to the Signicat Dashboard for free and complete the initial preparations. To do this:

  1. Sign up to the Signicat Dashboard and register your profile.
  2. Ensure that you have created an organisation.
  3. Create an account. To do this:
    1. Go to Signicat Dashboard > Organisation, then select + Add account.
    2. Enter an account name, choose the type of account that you want to create, then select Create.
  4. Create a domain. To do this:
    1. Go to Signicat Dashboard > Settings > Domain management, then select + Add domain.
    2. To create a standard domain, enter a domain name. Then, select Add domain.
    3. To create a custom domain, follow the instructions in the Custom domains documentation.
Account types

We recommend that you create a sandbox account to test our services before going live. Sandbox and production accounts must be set up separately.

Add Smart-ID

Once you have signed up and added a domain, you can add Smart-ID to the list of supported eIDs.

  1. In the Signicat Dashboard, navigate to Products > eID Hub > eIDs.
  2. Select + Add new in the top right.
  3. Choose the eID from the list. Add any required configuration, then select Add.
  4. Now, review that the eID is available and set to "Active" in the eIDs list.

For testing Smart-ID features, you can use the below test data:

Smart-ID Demo App

If you want to use your own Smart-ID details, you need a Smart-ID DEMO app for that. Follow these steps to set up the Smart-ID DEMO app:

  1. Install the app on your mobile device:
    • To install on the Android platform (minimum Android 4.1 required), click here.
    • To install on iOS (minimum iOS8 required), download Testflight and join the Smart-ID demo beta app.
  2. Register and prove your identity. This requires a normal Smart-ID account. In order to do so, please use an eID card or Mobile-ID for the identification. Using a bank link as a registration method means that you will be granted a Smart-ID Basic account, which is only used by a few banks.
  3. Your Smart-ID account is now ready to use.

Test without app
