On this page, you can find information to help you integrate with Personalausweis in a production account.

Prerequisites​

To connect to Personalausweis and get access to Signicat services in production, you first need to sign some contractual agreements with us. In particular, you need to sign:

  1. An agreement contract
  2. A data processing agreement (DPA)

Create a production account​

To go live with your Personalausweis integration, you need to set up a production account with a custom domain in the Signicat Dashboard. You can always reuse a production account that you created previously. To create a new production account, do the following:

  1. Go to Signicat Dashboard > Organisation management.
  2. Select Add Account.
  3. Enter the name of your account under Account Name and tick the box for Production account. Note that this requires that already completed your company's onboarding in the Dashboard.
  4. Select Create to create the new account.

A production account with default values is created for you. Note that in a production account, you access real data and transactions are billed.

Add a domain​

To establish a connection between Signicat infrastructure and Personalausweis, you need to add a domain to your production account. To do this, follow the instructions in the the domains documentation.

When integrating with Personalausweis, you can use both standard and custom domains.

Add Personalausweis in the Dashboard​

You can now add Personalausweis as an eID in your production account in the Signicat Dashboard. To do this:

  1. In the Signicat Dashboard, navigate to Products > eID Hub > eIDs.
  2. Select + Add new in the top right.
  3. Choose the eID from the list. Add any required configuration, then select Add.
  4. Now, review that the eID is available and set to "Active" in the eIDs list.

To allow your users to authenticate with Personalausweis, consider following the Personalausweis branding and logos in your application. See the Logos and best practices guide (in German).

Integrate with Personalausweis using Signicat Authentication REST API
