Test in Dashboard

This page describes how to test MitID in the Dashboard with your sandbox account. In this way you can learn more about available options and how to connect to the ID method.

Setup for testing

Sign up and add a domain

1. Sign up to the Signicat Dashboard. An organisation and sandbox account is automatically created for you.
2. Add a domain to your sandbox account, as described in the Initial setup instructions.

Add MitID

To be able to test MitID in the Signicat Dashboard, you first need to add it to your sandbox account:

1. In the Dashboard, go to eID Hub > ID Methods.
2. To enable the ID method, click Add new in the top right.
3. Choose the ID method from the list. Then, click Save.
4. Now you can see the ID method listed and enabled with status "Active" in the ID methods list.

Test MitID

In your sandbox account, you can test MItID with a few simple steps:

1. From the ID methods list, select the Test ID methods button. If you have more ID methods in the list, you must select MitID first.
2. You can now test the MitID login in Signicat's demo environment.

3. If you do not have a test user, you can create one in the MitID Test Tool.

4. You logged in successfully! At this stage, a potential end-user would have completed the authentication flow using MitID. In production, they would be redirected to the redirect URL you configure in your preferred authentication protocol.
