Test in Dashboard

This page describes how to test ID-porten in the Dashboard with your sandbox account before you start integrating in production. In this way you can learn more about available options and how to connect to the eID.

Setup for testing

Sign up and add domain

If you do not have an account already, then you need to sign up to the Signicat Dashboard for free and complete the initial preparations. To do this:

  1. Sign up to the Signicat Dashboard and register your profile.
  2. Ensure that you have created an organisation.
  3. Create an account. To do this:
    1. Go to Signicat Dashboard > Organisation, then select + Add account.
    2. Enter an account name, choose the type of account that you want to create, then select Create.
  4. Create a domain. To do this:
    1. Go to Signicat Dashboard > Settings > Domain management, then select + Add domain.
    2. To create a standard domain, enter a domain name. Then, select Add domain.
    3. To create a custom domain, follow the instructions in the Custom domains documentation.
Account types

We recommend that you create a sandbox account to test our services before going live. Sandbox and production accounts must be set up separately.

Add ID-porten

Once you have signed up and added a domain, you can add ID-porten to the list of supported eIDs.

  1. In the Signicat Dashboard, navigate to Products > eID and Wallet Hub > eIDs.
  2. Select + Add new in the top right.
  3. Choose the eID from the list. Add any required configuration, then select Add.
  4. Now, review that the eID is available and set to "Active" in the eIDs list.
Add ID-porten

Add ID-porten

Test ID-porten

Once you have added ID-porten to the list of available eIDs, you can test how it works for the end-user in the Dashboard:

  1. In the eIDs list, select Test eIDs.
  2. You can now start testing ID-porten.
Test credentials

If you do not have a test user for any of the available eIDs in ID-porten, you can use one of the following approaches:

  • You can select one of the available TestIDs and use its generated test user. In the example below, we have selected TestID > Find random user to generate a test user on the fly (see slide number two).
  • You can select BankID and use one of Norwegian BankID's pre-generated test users.
