PDF hydration

Fills a PDF template with data you obtain from the user journey. You can upload fillable PDF templates and configure mappings to workflow variables. This background process populates the PDF with user data, allowing seamless access to completed documents after the journey ends.

How it works

The PDF hydration step allows you fill a custom PDF template with data collected in the workflow.

In the Mint Builder UI, you can upload fillable PDF templates and configure a mapping between workflow variables and fields in the PDF template.

The PDF hydration fills the empty fields with data obtained during a user journey. For example, you can save data collected from the end-user, such as the date of birth, into the PDF and download the file once the user journey is completed.

PDF hydration is a background process that your end-users do not see in the user journey.

After the user journey is completed, you can view and download the PDF file, filled with data, in the Journeys of Signicat Mint.

To add the PDF hydration step to your flow, do this:

  1. In the Signicat Dashboard, navigate to Products > Signicat Mint.
  2. Open your flow.
  3. In the Builder UI, select the plus icon (+). Then, select Step.
  4. In the "Steps" menu on the left, select PDF hydration.

Upload a PDF template

Before you can configure the PDF hydration step, you must upload at least one fillable PDF template.

To upload a file:

  1. Select Manage files in the PDF hydration step. Alternatively, you can open the flow settings by selecting the gear (settings) icon at the top right of the navigation bar.
  2. Navigate to the Files tab in the flow settings.
  3. Select Browse files.
  4. Choose the file(s) you want to upload.

When you upload a file in the File settings, it will remain available in other steps of your workflow.
