Data retention

This page provides an overview of the different types of data stored and their retention duration when using Signicat Mint.

Signicat Mint retains data only for as long as necessary to process user journeys. To integrate your systems effectively, account for automated cancellation of active journeys and permanent data deletion timelines.

Journey retention timelines

The table below outlines the retention and cancellation policies for user journeys in Mint:

Start date

The retention period begins on the date and time when the journey was started, regardless of when or whether the journey finishes, suspends or is cancelled.

Data handling recommendations

To prevent data loss before the six-month retention limit expires:

  • Retrieve files and responses automatically: Use the Mint API or workflow steps (such as HTTP requests or Secure Share) to forward outputs, documents and verification results directly into your backend systems while the journey runs.
  • Export journey data: To store journey records for auditing or compliance, you need to download the required data through the Mint API before the six-month deletion timeline expires.
