Integration guides

Integration with identity wallets in the Signicat eID and Wallet Hub consists of the following steps:

  1. Setting up and configuring the identity wallets in the Signicat Dashboard.
  2. Testing your identity wallet configuration.
  3. Implementing a connection with an authentication protocol.
Sandbox only

During early-stage release, the identity wallets are only available for testing in a sandbox account.

Digital identification flow

The EUDI Wallet architecture offers a secure and easy way for European citizens, residents and businesses to prove who they are when accessing digital services. Digital identification with the identity wallets involves network communication across multiple actors, including your application and the Signicat eID and Wallet Hub. Below, you find a diagram of the information flow for digital identification.

EUDI Wallet flow

To learn how to implement a digital identification flow for your services, see the corresponding sections below.

1. Configure identity wallets

First, you need to activate and configure the identity wallets in your account in the Signicat Dashboard.

2. Try it out

After you have activated the identity wallets, you can test the login flow from the Signicat Dashboard. This helps you verify that the wallet, users and flows are ready before you start building the application integration.

3. Implement an authentication protocol

After you have configured and tested the identity wallets, you need to implement a connection with an authentication protocol. This is when you build your application to send authentication requests and handle user routing and access.
